Life of an Anime Addict #1 : Kara no Kyoukai
If you guys are into psychological thrillers, Kara no Kyoukai aka Garden of Sinners is definitely the anime for you. Based on the light novel series written by Kinoko Nasu in 1998, Kara no Kyoukai is a 7-part movie series animated by ufotable and part of the Type Moon series.

Those otakus out there who have watched Fate Zero, Fate Stay Night or Tsukihime would probably be familiar with this anime. Set in an alternate universe, Kara no Kyoukai tells a story of a Mikiya Kokutou and Ryougi Shiki who are both detectives at a Garan no Dou, a secret detective agency owned by a magus, Aozaki Tokou. Even though the different movies are about different distinctive cases, there is still a main story line that links all the 7 movies together - the story of Shiki's past and the love story of Shiki and Kokutou. But just a little warning to you readers, this anime is definitely not for the little kids out there.

I have to say, the storyline of this anime is really plotted out well. Even though each movie tells a different story, they all revolve around the past and future of the main protagonist, Ryougi Shiki. I also admire the author's method of not telling the story in a chronological order, by jumping back from the past and the future in all 7 movies, which allows viewers to put on their thinking cap. These type of animes really turns me on!!

To all my viewers out there, go watch Kara no Kyoukai right now!! Tell me what you think of the anime or if you have a better anime in mind by leaving your comment(s) here. Bye!

Life of a Retail Salesperson #2 : Racism
"Aiya, people from your race always have this kind of problem one!" Believe it or not, this is something you hear a lot in the retail or service line. In Singapore, we believe in a democratic society whereby every race is treated equally. Therefore, I really do not condone any act of social discrimination shown by anyone. I mean seriously man, have some respect!

Yah yah you guys must be thinking, "Who in this world isn't racist?" I know, everyone including myself is racist to a certain extend, but that does not give us the right to say hurtful things to condescend someone from another race - especially in public. I'm a Singaporean Chinese, and I am proud to say that I have not encountered anyone showing any discrimination to my race yet. However, I wish I could say the same for some of my dark-skinned colleagues... I have been working with them for quite some time and I must say that they are indeed a pleasure to work with!

Customer : "Hi, my dog is sick. Could you help me check if there is anything wrong with him?"

Colleague : "Sorry, Mdm. This is only but a pet store. I'm afraid you have to bring him to a vet."

Customer : "This is a pet store right? You guys should know how to do this kind of job!"

Colleague : "Mdm, I may be able to help. However, I am afraid that I may do more harm to your dog as we do not have the necessary tools here to check the condition of your dog. It is best if you send him to a clinic. I can direct you to the clinic. It's just opposite our..."

Customer : "I can't understand why you can't help me with just a simple task like this!? You _________ people are always this lazy!!"

*Colleague is appalled by what the customer just said.*

Colleague : "Mdm, there are many _________ in Singapore nowadays. The best  I can do is direct you to the nearby clinic, where my _________ friend will be kind enough to assist you.

*Customer walks out of the store, furious.*

Funny enough, she was served by the very friend my colleague was talking about. Haha!! I guess what goes around comes around. KARMA BITCHES!!

Well, I really hope this customer will ruminate on her actions. Wrong move woman!

A lesson to all customers out there : Don't discriminate any race. Make our world a place where all races can live in harmony together.

Hiaz... Gotta love the satire in this story.

Life of a Music Maker #1 : Wanted You More by Lady Antebellum
I guess Lady A has gotta be one of those under-rated bands of there in the United States. It's really hard for me to explain, but their songs just speak to me in a way that no other pop/country songs can. These days, all teens listen to are songs like Gangnam Style and I Knew You Were Trouble which are so overplayed everywhere in the world. I mean seriously - since when have we stopped appreciating good music!?

Country music is definitely a genre of music I really enjoy, and I'm glad that there are still some good country singers out there like Lady A, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Wondering why Taylor Swift's name has been strikethrough? Well, I did like her songs in the beginning but I think both her voice and her songs have been going downhill since the album Red. She can't even vibrato for nuts and all her songs are about break-ups with the thousand and one guys she dated over the seconds. Get a grip woman!! Stop being such a bimbo!!

Lady A consists of singing trio Hillary Scott, Charles Kelly and Dave Haywood. I have to say, all of them have such wonderful and powerful voices. Every time they sing, they sing with such passion and emotions, something many singers lack these days. Since most the songs are composed by the trio, it is no wonder they can sing in a way that touches the depths of our hearts.

There is always Lady A song that all of us can either relate to or understand - for me it is Wanted You More from their new album We Own the Night. Well, I guess what the song is trying to say is that in every relationship, there is always someone with the short end of the stick and the fact that your affection for your partner is more than your partner's for you is the main problem of the malfunctioning relationship. You will keep trying to maintain the relationship, putting as much effort as you can to sustain the love, only to realise that the relationship is never going to blossom because they don't desire a solution as much as you do. You will try to seek the light at the end of the tunnel, hoping that it will all work out, even though you know the relationship is not going to work out. In the end, you will fully understanding that it is unfair towards you to maintain in such as relationship and move on to start afresh.

Below is a vid of Wanted You More by Lady Antebellum. Go go go listen to it!! Hope you guys like it as much as I do!!

Life of a Retail Salesperson #1 : Listen Up
Often, we hear about the horrible service given to customers at any retail shop. I admit, no salesperson is perfect, and I must say that after working in the retail line for quite some time, being a salesperson is no easy feat. It takes someone with great passion and patience to be one hell of a good salesperson, which is something I'm still trying my best to become. Hehe!! But, how often are we aware that the reason why a salesperson starts to become hostile with us is because of our lack of understanding in what they are trying to tell us! Of course, the example I'm using is just an analogy.

Customer : "Can I have a Green Milk Tea with....."

Me : "Mdm, we do not have any Milk Tea left. They are all sold out."
(Okay I admit I was rude to have interrupted her...)

Customer : "Wait!! Listen to me!! Can I have a Green Milk Tea with Pearls??"

Me : "Mdm, we really do not have any Green Milk Tea left. It was sold out a while ago."

Customer : "You are not listening to me and you do not understand what I want!! I want a GREEN MILK TEA WITH PEARLS!!"

Me : "Mdm I did listen to your request but I am sorry to tell you that we do not have any Green Milk Tea left."

Customer : "Why can't you just listen to me! You are not listening to me and not paying attention to what I said!"

*Customer storms off in anger, leaving me bewildered by what just happened.*

Just to simplify things a little, Milk Tea is an essential ingredient in making Green Milk Tea. Without any Milk Tea, you can forget about getting any other kind of Milk Tea.

I'm really unsure if she has listening disabilities or she just simply lacks comprehension skills.

Well, some customers just never listen, and they never will...

A lesson for all customers out there : Listen up and digest what has been told to you. I'm sure you guys are not brick walls right?

Hiaz... And I was even being nice to her...
